"Crossing" - 24" x 80" oil pastel on wood panel This oil pastel painting depicts my friend Bill Ford making his way across Pilchuck Creek in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. Bill was an avid hiker and nature lover with a quick wit and a great sense of humor, who became an early victim of AIDS. This painting shows Bill enjoying one of his last forays into the wild as he struggled with the symptoms of the disease that had no effective treatment in that era.
