"Perseverance of Dignity"

mixed media - wood, fabric, and acrylic paint  | 28" x 16" x 78"  |  Daniel Wend

This sculpture is a memorial to the victims of human trafficking and slavery. We are daily witnesses
to the cruelty and exploitation our species is capable of inflicting upon our own kind, and slavery
is a historic dehumanization that our own nation deemed worth fighting the Civil War over.
Human trafficking and slavery continues around the globe to this day, and represents a callous
and contemptuous view of humanity and free societies - Where people are used like machines
to enhance the fortunes of the powerbrokers and exploiters.
